The Venetian and Palazzo in Las Vegas Experience Technical Outage in 2025

In an unexpected turn of events, the iconic Venetian and Palazzo resorts in Las Vegas faced a significant weekend outage in 2025. Contrary to initial rumours, this incident was not a result of a cyber attack, but rather due to issues with internet and power supplies.

Guests at the resorts experienced disruptions, with phone lines, slot machines, and digital signs going offline. This caused chaos, with long lines forming in the lobby due to disrupted check-ins. The situation was further complicated as some restaurants temporarily accepted only cash payments.

Official statements from the casino dismissed cyberattack rumours, attributing the problems to technical failures. Despite the disruptions, the casino expects operations to return to normal quickly.

It's important to note that this incident is distinct from any 2023 outages related to system upgrades and separate from cyber attacks on other Las Vegas casinos such as MGM Resorts and Caesars Entertainment that year.

Interestingly, this is not the first time slot machines at The Venetian have gone down. In 2023, they were offline due to a system upgrade. The recent outage, however, was caused by an internet issue.

The outage reportedly caused delays for gamblers hoping to receive their payouts. Some restaurants at the Venetian and Palazzo could only accept cash payments due to the outages, adding to the inconvenience for guests.

The Venetian was sold to Apollo Global Management and VICI Properties in 2022 by Las Vegas Sands. Despite the recent challenges, the casino remains a popular destination for tourists and locals alike.

The technical outage at The Venetian and Palazzo resorts in 2025, disrupting phone lines, slot machines, and digital signs, affected not only casino games like slots but also the entire casino-culture of Las Vegas. Moreover, the outage extended to the casino-games section, causing delays for gamblers seeking their payouts.
