A New Pan-Pacific Culinary Experience Awaits in Notting Hill

Los Mochis, a unique restaurant and bar, has recently opened its doors in the vibrant neighbourhood of Notting Hill, London. This new establishment offers a fusion of Mexican flavours prepared with Japanese techniques and Asian ingredients, crafted by multi-award winning restaurateur Markus Thesleff.

The menu at Los Mochis is nothing short of extraordinary, featuring 22 distinct taco options ranging from the Trailer Park KFC to Miso Black Cod. But the culinary adventure doesn't stop there. The menu also boasts innovative Ceviches, Tostadas, Tiraditos, Quesadillas, Maki Rolls, and more, all inspired by the team's Japanese experience.

For those seeking a refreshing drink, Los Mochis offers an extensive selection of small batch artisanal agaves for hand-crafted signature cocktails like the Late-Night Martini and Mezcal Haze Paloma. For the tequila or mezcal enthusiasts, a tasting flight is also available.

The refurbishment of the former restaurant was undertaken by MM Shopfitting & Joinery, resulting in a stunning ground floor dining room and a first-floor lounge that seamlessly blends rustic authentic Mexican culture with elegant, warm, and sophisticated Japanese touches. Two large murals by acclaimed Mexican artist Jorge Tellaeche are key design features, including a Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) altar.

Outside, the restaurant offers an outdoor patio with seating for 20 people, an awning, and a pergola terrace, providing a perfect setting for al fresco dining.

Markus Thesleff chose Notting Hill for Los Mochis due to its close-knit, multi-cultural, and art-enamoured community, reflecting the restaurant's founding principle of Familia. He comments that Los Mochis is the first Pan-Pacific restaurant to combine Mexican and Japanese cuisine, and it is his first project since returning to the UK.

In addition to its culinary offerings, Los Mochis is committed to giving back to the community. For every meal sold, a meal will be donated to help the homeless and those less fortunate, in partnership with local charities.

The project to create Los Mochis began in Summer 2020 and was completed in January 2021. The building exterior features an eye-catching bespoke mural painted by Jorge Tellaeche. The design of the restaurant was overseen by MMT Interior Design.

Whether you're a foodie, a cocktail connoisseur, or simply looking for a unique dining experience, Los Mochis is a must-visit destination in Notting Hill.
